Trade-In and Bundle Deals Worth Knowing About
Sony and Microsoft haven't announced official GTA 6 console bundles, but UK retailer EE already sells its own. Here's what exists and what to wait for.

Update, October 7, 2026: As of early October, neither Sony nor Microsoft has announced an official console bundle with GTA 6. Some retailers have made their own instead: in the UK, EE is selling PS5 and PS5 Pro bundles that pair a console with a discounted copy of the game, shipping for the November launch. Check whether any bundle includes the code for the full game and the Vintage Vice City Pack, and remember the boxed game is a download code, not a disc. Major console releases this size almost always come with some version of a bundle or trade-in offer attached, even when nothing has been formally announced yet, simply because retailers and platform holders have strong incentives to package hardware sales alongside the software everyone’s excited about. GTA 6 hasn’t had anything officially confirmed on this front as of now, but it’s worth understanding what’s likely to show up and why, rather than waiting passively for an announcement.
Console bundles are the most predictable of these. Sony and Microsoft have both bundled PS5 and Xbox Series X|S hardware with major first- and third-party releases before, and a game with GTA 6’s sales expectations is exactly the kind of title platform holders want driving new console purchases in its launch window. If you’re planning to buy a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S specifically because of GTA 6, it’s worth holding off on that purchase until closer to release rather than buying early. A bundle that saves you the cost of a physical copy, or includes bonus content, is a realistic possibility once marketing ramps up further.
Trade-in credit through retailers is the other major avenue, and it doesn’t require Rockstar or Take-Two to do anything special. Major retailers routinely run trade-in promotions ahead of huge releases, offering boosted credit for old games or hardware specifically redeemable toward a new release. If you’ve got old games or unused hardware sitting around, checking retailer trade-in values in the weeks before November 19 is likely to be more useful than checking now, since these promotions tend to intensify as a release date approaches rather than starting early.
It’s also worth watching for accessory and peripheral bundling, particularly given how much attention PC and console peripherals get in gaming coverage generally. Controller manufacturers, headset makers, and storage device sellers have all bundled products with major releases before, and a launch with GTA 6’s visibility is a natural target for that kind of cross-promotion, especially from third-party accessory brands looking to ride the same wave of attention.
None of this is confirmed, and it’s worth being honest that “these usually happen” isn’t the same as “this one is guaranteed.” But given how consistently bundles and trade-in promotions accompany releases at this scale, the practical advice is simple. If you’re planning any related hardware purchase, whether a console, a controller, or storage, around GTA 6’s launch, waiting to see what gets announced in the final weeks before November 19 is worth more than locking in a purchase today.
