Will GTA 6 Get a Trailer 3 Before Launch?

Rockstar hasn't announced a third trailer, and it never called the Netflix Extended Look one. Here's what its past launches suggest about a launch trailer in November.

“When is Trailer 3?” has been one of the most searched GTA 6 questions for over a year. As of early October 2026, the short answer is that Rockstar hasn’t announced one. The longer answer is that you’ve probably already seen more footage than a third trailer would have shown, and that a different kind of video is likely on the way.

What Rockstar has released so far

GTA 6 has had two numbered trailers. Trailer 1 arrived in December 2023, a day earlier than planned after it leaked online. Trailer 2 followed in May 2025. Both were around three minutes of cinematic footage, cut like a film trailer, with almost no visible gameplay systems.

Then on August 27, 2026, Rockstar premiered the Netflix Extended Look, about 26 minutes of in-game footage captured on PS5. A lot of fans call it Trailer 3. Rockstar doesn’t. It was presented as an extended look at the game rather than the next entry in the trailer series, and in practice it was a gameplay showcase, closer to a long preview than a trailer.

So if you’re waiting for a third cinematic trailer in the style of the first two, that hasn’t happened.

What usually comes next: a launch trailer

Rockstar’s habit with its biggest releases is to put out a launch trailer in the final days before release. Red Dead Redemption 2’s launch trailer arrived in the week of its October 2018 launch, around the same time the review embargo date was confirmed. A short, punchy trailer timed to launch week is exactly what you’d expect for GTA 6 too.

The timing that keeps coming up is the week of November 12, when pre-loading begins and boxed copies reach shops. That’s an informed guess based on Rockstar’s pattern, not an announcement. Rockstar has never dated a trailer far in advance; it tends to announce them a few days ahead, or not at all.

Why Rockstar might not bother

There’s a reasonable argument that Rockstar doesn’t need another big trailer. The Extended Look was the number one English-language film on Netflix in its week, with 31.1 million views. Game Informer and LOVE magazine have carried new screenshots since then, and Rockstar is paying for real-world advertising in Miami Beach from mid-October. Awareness isn’t the problem. Rockstar’s whole approach to GTA 6 has been to say less, not more, and our piece on Rockstar’s silence strategy explains why.

A launch trailer is different, though. It’s less about revealing information and more about marking the moment, and it doubles as an advert that runs on TV and in cinemas. That’s why most people expect one even if a full Trailer 3 never comes.

How to catch it when it drops

Rockstar posts new trailers on its own website and YouTube channel, usually with a one or two day heads-up on social media. If you want to avoid story details in the final weeks, that’s worth knowing, since a launch trailer could include scenes from later in the game. Our guide on avoiding GTA 6 spoilers covers how to stay clean until November 19.

We’ll update this page the moment Rockstar announces anything.
