GTA 6 is a story-driven game about two people whose relationship can go different ways, and the last thing you want after years of waiting is to learn how it ends from a thumbnail. The weeks before launch are the riskiest time. Here’s where spoilers are likely to come from and how to keep them out of your feeds.

Where the risk is coming from

The most talked-about source right now is the anonymous account known as CyberLeek, which has been posting what it claims is unreleased GTA 6 material and running polls on its website asking fans to vote on what to leak next. Whether or not its material is genuine, it means screenshots and clips claiming to show unreleased content are circulating now.

The second source is the run-up to launch itself. Reviews will probably land the day before release, as they did for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, and some coverage will discuss the story in more depth than a spoiler-free review should. And from November 19, millions of people will be streaming the game.

One source you can mostly rule out is early copies. Because the physical edition is a download code, boxed copies reaching shops on November 12 can’t be played early the way disc copies of other games sometimes are. That’s likely part of why Rockstar chose it.

Muting is the strongest tool you have. In settings, go to Privacy and safety, then Mute and block, then Muted words, and add phrases rather than single words where you can. Good choices: “GTA 6 ending”, “GTA 6 spoiler”, “GTA 6 leak”, “CyberLeek”, and the main characters’ names together with “dies” or “ending”. Set the mute to apply to your home timeline and notifications, and choose “Forever” or “Until you unmute”.

Reddit

The big GTA 6 subreddits generally require spoiler tags on story content, but titles slip through. On desktop, you can use the community’s filters to hide posts flaired as leaks. Before launch, consider leaving or muting the most active leak-focused communities for a few weeks rather than relying on everyone else’s tagging.

YouTube and TikTok

These are the hardest, because they push content you haven’t searched for. On YouTube, use “Not interested” and “Don’t recommend channel” on anything with a leak or ending in its title, and stop watching GTA 6 reaction videos in the final week, since watching one trains the algorithm to show you more. On TikTok, add GTA 6 terms to the keyword filter in Content preferences, which hides videos with those words in the caption or hashtags.

Group chats and Discord

Ask friends directly. A single message in a group chat (“no GTA story talk until December, please”) does more than any filter. On Discord, mute the general channels of big GTA servers and stick to spoiler-marked channels you’ve chosen.

Launch week

Once the game is out, the safest approach is simple: play before you scroll. If you’re working through it slowly, keep your filters on until you’re done. Our launch day checklist covers the rest of what to set up before November 19.
