A Paris fashion and culture magazine is not where most people expected new GTA 6 information to turn up. But LOVE, which closed in 2024 and relaunched in September 2025, put Jason and Lucia on one of six covers for Issue 27, released October 5, 2026, and paired it with a long interview with Rockstar’s narrative team. Fans bought it fast enough that reports of the issue selling out appeared within hours of release.

If the Game Informer cover story was about Leonida as a place, the LOVE feature is about the two people at the center of it.

The four new images

The preview released ahead of the issue included four new pieces of art and screenshots. One shows Jason and Lucia sharing a booth in a diner, a framing plenty of fans immediately compared to the opening of Pulp Fiction. Another has them at a bar playing pool, a third is a motorcycle shot, and the fourth is a black-and-white portrait of the pair together.

None of these show new systems, but they continue a pattern in Rockstar’s recent marketing: quieter shots of the couple spending time together rather than another action set piece. That fits Game Informer’s report that their relationship can become romantic or stay platonic depending on how you play.

Who Rockstar put forward

The interview features Rob Nelson, co-studio head and head of development at Rockstar North, Rupert Humphries, senior vice president of narrative, and two of the game’s writers, Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern and Alexa D’Agostino. It’s rare for Rockstar to name its writers in press at all, so this was also one of the more open moments in a famously quiet campaign.

Lucia acts, Jason reacts

The clearest new character detail is how the writers describe the pair as opposites. Lucia is the proactive one, determined to build a better life and unwilling to let much stand in her way. Jason is more often pushed by circumstances, reacting to events instead of driving them. The writers said they wanted both to be tough, vulnerable and flawed, with room to learn from each other over the course of the story.

That lines up with what we already knew. Lucia’s first trailer opened with her in prison, and Jason’s background as an army veteran who grew up around grifters before ending up working for drug runners in the Leonida Keys paints him as someone who drifts into trouble rather than plans it. If you’re new to the pair, our profile of Lucia and Jason covers the basics, and our piece on GTA 6’s female protagonist explains why Lucia’s role matters for the series.

A smaller American Dream

The line most quoted from the issue came from Humphries, who suggested the American Dream has shrunk. For a lot of people now, he said, it means a home for your family and getting out of debt, not a mansion and a fortune. That’s a noticeable shift from GTA 5, where the dream was the scale of the score.

It’s also a useful way to read the Bonnie and Clyde comparison that has followed the game since its first trailer. The pull of the story, at least as Rockstar frames it, isn’t greed so much as two people trying to get ahead in a place that makes that hard, and choosing crime as the shortcut.

A decade of building Leonida

The feature also touches on the research behind the setting: years of trips and reference work that went into making a fictional state that still feels recognisably like Florida. We cover the real places behind the fiction in our guide to GTA 6’s real Florida locations.

Should you buy the issue?

If you collect GTA memorabilia, probably, since a sold-out fashion magazine with GTA 6 on the cover is the kind of thing that becomes a talking piece. If you just want the information, the key quotes and all four images have been widely shared, and nothing in the issue changes how the game plays. Its real value is the clearest look yet at how Rockstar wants you to think about Jason and Lucia before you meet them on November 19.
