The Grotti Carbonizzare has been in GTA Online since launch day, September 17, 2013, but Rockstar pulled it from direct sale in June 2023. It originally cost $195,000 at the in-game dealership. Today the only ways to get one are buying a copy from another player at the LS Car Meet or catching it during its weekly rotation through Simeon's Showroom, Luxury Autos, or LS Car Meet Test Rides.

How It Drives

Broughy1322's fully-upgraded test clocks the Carbonizzare at 193.12 km/h (120 mph), with a 1:05.282 lap time. Rockstar's own in-game stat bars read 84.78 speed, 87.50 acceleration, 26.67 braking, and 72.12 handling, all on a 0 to 100 scale. That braking number is low for a Sports-class car, so drivers coming from something with stronger stock brakes will need to start slowing down earlier into corners than they're used to.

How to Get One

There's no direct purchase path anymore. The dealership listing disappeared in June 2023, six years after the car launched with GTA Online itself. What's left is buying a copy of someone else's Carbonizzare at the LS Car Meet, or waiting for it to show up in one of the weekly rotation slots: three Test Ride spots at the LS Car Meet, five at Simeon's Showroom, two at Luxury Autos, or ten reserved for GTA+ members at the Vinewood Car Club. None of these are guaranteed on any given week.

Customization Highlights

A full build across every category runs $277,250 at Los Santos Customs. Turbo tuning alone accounts for $50,000 of that, the single largest line item, followed by the Race Transmission at $40,000. Full 100% armor adds another $50,000 but still isn't enough to survive a single homing missile or RPG hit, so it buys resistance against gunfire and collisions more than explosives.

Comparison to Other Variants

Set against the Grotti Itali GTO (Ferrari 812 Superfast-inspired, tested around 127.75 mph), the Carbonizzare is noticeably slower, and the Itali GTO can still be bought new for $1,965,000 while the Carbonizzare can't be bought at all. Against the newer Grotti Cartuccia GT (based on the Ferrari 12Cilindri, 223.70 km/h fully upgraded, $2,395,000 at Legendary Motorsport), the Carbonizzare is both slower and cheaper in its original price, but only one of the two is purchasable today.

Is It Worth Buying?

It can't be bought outright anymore, so the real question is whether it's worth chasing through the LS Car Meet or player trades. At a 67.77 overall rating and weak braking for its class, it's not a competitive pick against current Sports-class options. It's worth grabbing if the opportunity comes up cheaply or for free through Import/Export or story-mode nostalgia, not worth actively hunting down at a premium.

Quick Tips

  • Check the LS Car Meet, Simeon's Showroom, and Luxury Autos each week, rotation slots change regularly Buying a copy from another player at the LS Car Meet is the most reliable acquisition method Budget separately for armor, since 100% armor still won't stop a single homing missile or RPG Deliver it to Simeon during Export Requests for a guaranteed $20,000 if it shows up as a wanted vehicle Don't expect competitive lap times against current Sports-class purchases, its stats reflect a 2013-era car

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Usable in standard races
  • Solid acceleration for its class (87.50 on Rockstar's own scale)
  • Import/Export reward pays $20,000 when delivered as a wanted vehicle
  • Buying a used copy at the LS Car Meet sidesteps the missing dealership listing
Cons
  • Removed from direct purchase since June 2023, acquisition now depends on timing or another player's copy
  • Weak braking relative to its class (26.67 on Rockstar's own scale)
  • Not bulletproof by default, a single homing missile, RPG, or sticky bomb destroys it even at 100% armor
  • Full upgrade cost of $277,250 is steep for a car that can't be bought outright anymore

Verdict

The Carbonizzare earns its reputation on looks and story-mode nostalgia more than raw stats, and getting one now takes patience rather than cash. Worth grabbing if it turns up in rotation or from another player, not worth chasing at a premium given its middling 67.77 overall rating against current Sports-class options.
