Lucia Caminos

Lucia Caminos is GTA VI’s first mandatory female protagonist, and also the character fans have invented the most about. Her real story, according to Rockstar’s own bio, is simpler than the internet makes it sound: raised partly in Liberty City, taught to fight by her father, locked up in Leonida Penitentiary for fighting to protect her family, and out on sheer luck. Everything else, her exact age, her occupation, her crew, hasn’t been confirmed anywhere official. Here’s what’s real and what’s still just a theory.

Who Is Lucia Caminos in GTA 6?

Lucia Caminos is one of two playable protagonists in Grand Theft Auto VI, and she carries a distinction no GTA game has had before her: she’s the first mandatory female lead in the mainline series’ history. Every numbered GTA before this one put you in control of a male protagonist by default. GTA VI is the first to hand you Lucia’s story as a core part of the campaign, not a side option.

That alone makes her the most talked-about character in the game’s marketing. It’s also made her the character the internet has filled in the most gaps for.

What Rockstar has confirmed

According to Rockstar’s own official bio, Lucia’s roots trace back to Liberty City, and her father taught her to fight from a very young age. Rockstar’s exact words: “Lucia’s father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk. Life has been coming at her swinging ever since.”

That upbringing catches up with her. Rockstar’s bio continues: “Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary. Sheer luck got her out.” That’s the entirety of what’s officially known about how she ended up behind bars, Rockstar hasn’t named the specific crime, and anything more detailed you’ve read elsewhere is fan speculation, not confirmed lore.

After her release, she partners up with Jason Duval, and the two become a criminal duo that press outlets have widely compared to Bonnie and Clyde. Worth being precise here: that comparison comes from reporters and fans reading the trailers, not from Rockstar itself. It’s a reasonable read of what’s shown, but it isn’t an official label.

What’s still unconfirmed

A lot of “facts” circulating about Lucia don’t hold up when you trace them back to a source:

• Her exact age. You’ll see “30” repeated across some fan sites and even pre-filled into character databases, but Rockstar has never stated her age anywhere.
• Her occupation and crew affiliation before prison. Not addressed in any official material.
• The identity of a social worker or specific supervisor during her incarceration. This detail shows up on a few fan wikis, but it doesn’t trace back to anything Rockstar has published.

Until Rockstar or a verified trailer/interview states these directly, they stay open questions, not facts.

Voice actor: still a rumor, not a confirmation

Rockstar has never announced its voice cast ahead of launch. That held true for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, and everything points to VI following the same pattern, with the real cast reveal likely coming through the credits once the game launches on November 19, 2026.

The name fans keep circling for Lucia is Manni L. Perez, known for playing Esperanza Morales on Law & Order: SVU. She’d previously voiced a minor character in a GTA Online casino update, and the community has pointed to a facial resemblance to Lucia’s model. Perez has also referenced working on an undisclosed project under NDA. None of that is confirmation, it’s circumstantial, but it’s the strongest lead currently out there.

The bottom line

Lucia Caminos is confirmed as GTA VI’s first mandatory female protagonist, her Liberty City background and imprisonment are both straight from Rockstar’s own bio, and her partnership with Jason is central to the story. Her age, her occupation, and her voice actor are all still open questions. Anywhere those show up as settled facts, treat it with caution until Rockstar says otherwise.
